【摘要】:TheuseofPBGMasbarriermaterialstorestrictliquidmigrationfromonelocationtoanotherinsoilshascreatedaneedforastandardtestmethodtoevaluatethequalityofPBGMseams.InthecaseofPBGM,ithasbecomeevidentthatseamscanexhibitseparationinthefieldundercertainconditions.Althoughthisisanindextypetestmethodusedforqualityassuranceandqualitycontrolpurposes,itisalsointendedtoprovidethequalityassuranceengineerwithsufficientseamsheardatatoevaluateseamquality.Recordingandreportingdatawillallowthequalityassuranceengineertotakemeasuresnecessarytoensuretherepairofseamswithunacceptablestrengthduringfacilityconstruction,andtherefore,minimizethepotentialforseamseparationinservice.1.1Thistestmethodpresentstheproceduresusedfordeterminingthequalityofprefabricatedbituminousgeomembrane(PBGM)bondedseamssubjectedtoasheartest.ItdescribesadestructivequalitycontroltestusedtodeterminetheintegrityofPBGMseams.1.2ThistestprocedureisintendedforPBGMonly.1.3ThetypeofthermalfieldseamingtechniqueusedtoconstructPBGMseamsincludethefollowing.1.3.1Torch-on-ThistechniquemeltstwoPBGMsurfacestobeseamedbyrunningaflamefromapropanetorchbetweenthem.Pressureisappliedonthetoporbottom,orbothPBGM,forcingtogetherbothsurfacestoformacontinuousbond.1.3.2HotAir-Thistechniqueintroduceshigh-temperatureairorgasbetweentwoPBGMsurfacestofacilitatemelting.Pressureisappliedonthetoporbottom,orbothPBGM,forcingtogetherbothsurfacestoformacontinuousbond.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
