【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesasimplemeansofcharacterizingthethermomechanicalbehaviorofplasticsmaterialsusingverysmallamountsofmaterial.Thedataobtainedmaybeusedforqualitycontrol,researchanddevelopment,andestablishmentofoptimumprocessingconditions.Dynamicmechanicaltestingprovidesasensitivemethodfordeterminingthermomechanicalcharacteristicsbymeasuringtheelasticandlossmoduliasafunctionoffrequency,temperature,ortime.Plotsofmoduliandtandeltaofamaterialversustemperatureprovidegraphicalrepresentationsindicativeoffunctionalproperties,effectivenessofcure(thermosettingresinsystem),anddampingbehaviorunderspecifiedconditions.ThistestmethodcanbeusedtoassessThemodulusasafunctionoftemperature,Themodulusasafunctionoffrequency,Theeffectsofprocessingtreatment,includingorientation,Relativeresinbehavioralproperties,includingcureanddamping,Theeffectsofsubstratetypesandorientation(fabrication)onelasticmodulus,andTheeffectsofformulationadditivesthatmightaffectprocessabilityorperformance.Beforeproceedingwiththistestmethod,referenceshouldbemadetothespecificationofthematerialbeingtested.Anytestspecimenpreparation,conditioning,dimensions,ortestingparameters,orcombinationthereof,coveredintherelevantASTMmaterialsspecificationshalltakeprecedenceoverthosementionedinthistestmethod.IftherearenorelevantASTMmaterialsspecifications,thenthedefaultconditionsapply.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheuseofdynamicmechanicalinstrumentationforgatheringandreportingtheviscoelasticpropertiesofthermoplasticandthermosettingresinsandcompositesystemsintheformofrectangularspecimensmoldeddirectlyorcutfromsheets,plates,ormoldedshapes.Thetorsionaldatageneratedmaybeusedtoidentifythethermomechanicalpropertiesofaplasticsmaterialorcomposition.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedtoprovidemeansfordeterminingthetorsionalmodulusofplasticsasafunctionoftemperatureusingnonresonantforced-vibrationtechniques,asoutlinedinPracticeD4065.Plotsoftheelastic(storage),loss(viscous),andcomplexmoduliandtandelta,asafunctionoffrequency,time,ortemperatureareindicativeofsignificanttransitionsinthethermomechanicalperformanceofthepolymericmaterialsystem.1.3Thistestmethodisvalidforawiderangeoffrequencies,typicallyfrom0.01to100Hz.1.4Apparentdiscrepanciesmayariseinresultsobtainedunderdifferingexperimentalconditions.Theseapparentdifferencesfromresultsobservedinanotherstudycanusuallybereconciledwithoutchangingtheobserveddatabyreportinginfull(asdescribedinthistestmethod)theconditionsunderwhichthedatawereobtained.1.5Testdataobtainedbythistestmethodarerelevantandappropriateforuseinengineeringdesign.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ThistestmethodisequivalenttoISO6721,Part7.
